'Terence Conran on Design' was the first book I bo

'Terence Conran on Design' was the first book I bought as an impressionable student studying design in 1997 and I loved the examples he used to illustrate his thoughts on good design (especially the paperclip) which opened a new world to me but also validated my own emerging beliefs in simplicity and beauty.

It's difficult to overestimate the influence this man has had on my work ever since and I was over the moon when he and his wife stopped to talk about my Standing Hanger prototype in 2005 during the London Design Festival. I regretted not engaging with him more - entirety from my own bashfulness and reverence toward him, even though he was far from intimidating.

Having worked with @theconranshopofficial for over 5 years, I finally formally met Sir Terence in 2018 and we talked about design and chair feet. It was a joy, and for such a personally significant moment, it was humbling to discuss something as simple with someone so great.
