Wivvy shelves are both storage and screen. The angled poles create structure from triangulation using a method of engineering which allows the unit to be easily transported and assembled.
Originally sketched as over-running lines and then modelled using bamboo skewers, Wivvy references this early development language and is made from tapered steel poles with stained wooden shelves.
The name Wivvy is a corruption of the word ‘withy’ which is the name of a slender willow branch implanted upright to mark minor tidal sandbanks and channels in estuaries. The spelling has been changed to use letters whose shape reflects the angles of the poles.
